2010 National Book Award Finalists

Yesterday, October 13th, author Pat Conroy announced the 2010 National Book Award Finalists.  Those shortlisted for the prize won’t surprise you – you’ve seen some win awards already while others are surrounded by buzz.  Some have already commented on the absence of “Book of the Year” Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom from the shortlist however judges reiterated that they were asked to set any buzz aside and concentrate on the books themselves.

The winner will be announced on the 17 November 2010 at a ceremony to be held in New York.
